Ingredients

  • 1.5 tsp Ceremonial grade matcha powder
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Guava jam or puree
  • 1 cup Oat or dairy milk
  • 1 cup Ice cubes
  • A pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a bowl to ensure there are no clumps.
  2. Whisk the matcha powder with 0.25 cup of water using a traditional bamboo whisk in a zig-zag motion for 20 to 30 seconds until foamy.
  3. Spread the guava jam at the base of your glass, coating the sides slightly.
  4. Stir in a splash of warm water and a pinch of salt to the jam to reach a syrupy consistency.
  5. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  6. Pour in your choice of milk until the glass is three-quarters full.
  7. Slowly pour the prepared matcha over the milk to create a stratified, colorful effect.

Notes

Use seedless guava jam for the best texture. If preferred, you can prepare the matcha with slightly warmer water to increase the foam production. Ensure you pour the matcha gently over the back of a spoon if you want the most defined layers.
